9 August 05: Spam etc is still a big problem
Many apologies if your
e-mail questions have not been answered. It has been impossible to sort
out the genuine from the thousands of unwanted e-mails. Another tack to
solve this problem is to use another service provider so Roger's e-mail has
been changed again. Now it is roger777@btinternet.com. All the
appropriate addresses in the website have been changed.
19 Jan 05: Access to the on-line lessons and e-mail help are now open to all
without charge.
Roger has decided to change the philosophy of this web site from that of a
subscription service to one free to anyone who cares to access it.
As before with ony changes there might be bugs and glitches so
please let us know and mail to
webmrs@classicaldressage.net
17 Jan 04: Important - a new email address for Roger
As we are sure you all know and have experienced it spam and other
unwanted e-mails are a big problem. Roger's email,
roger@classicaldressage.net, got hundreds every day.
Drastic measures were needed. Roger now has a new e-mail address
rogertaylor@classicaldressage.net. Any e-mail sent to the old address will
just disappear down a black hole never to be seen by anyone. If you
have a copy of his e-mail address in say your mail address book then
please change it to the new one. Also, if you have e-mailed him since the
beginning of the year and not received a reply then Roger sends his
apologies and asks if you would please send you e-mail again
to the new address.
3 Dec 03: New design
As you can see we have redesigned the website to be more convenient to use.
It goes without saying that we have tested it and tested it and think it
is working correctly. However Murphy's Law says that if something can go
wrong then it will, so apologies in advance and please let us know if you find any bugs or glitches.
webmrs@classicaldressage.net
We will keep the old site viable (except the home page which will be the
new one) for a few months so if you have any
bookmarks to the old site pages then please change them so that they
point to the new pages. We will remove the old style pages in a few
months from now.
2 Jan 03: We have moved
The first piece of news that I must tell
you is that Eleanor and I no longer own The Grove Riding Centre in Aberdeen. We
still however own the name The Scottish Classical Dressage Centre. There were
many reasons why we decided to move on, but the main deciding factor was the
increasing tax and legislation burden put upon small businesses in the
UK.
The net effect of our move away from a
riding school environment is that both Eleanor and I can concentrate on
training clients on their own horses in their own space without the encumbrance
and administrative headache of maintaining staff, property and red tape. We
will have more time to do what we both really love doing; riding and teaching
classical dressage.
The emails from you are still coming in thick and fast which is really good news. I
created the web site to provide a service to all those riders and horse lovers
who wanted to learn, to improve their riding and training skills, but who did
not have access to or could not find a professional classical dressage teacher
or trainer. I really think that goal has been reached.
The emphasis of this
site has and must always be communication between us so that we can work
together to improve your horse, improve your riding and your understanding of
these wonderful animals. Between us, within the limitations of working though
an email environment, we shall achieve your equine ambitions. So keep the
emails coming. I now have more time and energy to answer them!
If you wish to write to me via snail mail my new address is:
Hadley Brae, Ford, By Lochgilphead, Argyll, PA31 8RH
With regard to personal training, both
Eleanor and I are still travelling and teaching clinics around the country.
Since moving from The Grove I have already travelled back to Aberdeen, and to both St
Andrews and Glasgow. Eleanor has ridden a few demonstrations on Vivaldi here in
Argyll and already we have quite a large group of interested riders who are
keen clients who want to learn more about the classical way.
There are a few stable yards in this area
that can provide livery and have good outdoor arenas. That means that in the
summer if a member would like to bring their horse to this beautiful part of
the world they could livery their horse and stay locally and perhaps have a
holiday, ride and train with either Eleanor or me.
A friend and member of the website is also
planning to build an indoor riding hall in the area. It's early days yet but
let's cross our fingers that he's successful.
I hope you find this page of value. If you have any comments or if you
feel I have missed something, as usual, email me
roger777@btinternet.com
